• History

SWEBO Bioenergy is owned by brothers Mikael and Magnus Jansson together with Sustainable Technologies Fund, a Cleantech fund.

Mikael and Magnus Jansson are brothers and you could say that they have bioenergy in their blood. For as long as they can remember they have developing and selling bioenergy systems in various forms, and have been active within SWEBO since the late 1980s. They eventually bought the company from their father in 2000. In recent years, SWEBO has experienced huge growth as a result of many years of planning, with new organisation, new products and a sound research and development base. The brothers are known to be extremely close and driven by their primary interest – Bioenergy.

Cleantech fund invests
The Sustainable Technologies Fund is run by André Heinz and Anders Frisk, who together have a solid background in strategic environmental work and investment. André Heinz has sat for over 10 years on the management and investment committee for The Heinz Endowments, a charitable foundation which manages 1.5 billion dollars of the fortune generated by the ketchup company. For the last 15 years, André Heinz has worked as a consultant and specialist in the sustainable development and cleantech fields, and also served as environmental advisor to his stepfather John Kerry during his presidential campaign. Among other accomplishments, Anders Frisk has served as MD of venture capital company Speed Ventures, and MD of international environmental organisation The Natural Step.
